Blog 8: English Language Challenges

Imagen
Hi! So considering that this is the English subject, I guess what I have to say about it is that I thought it was going to be way different from school. But maybe because it is online, I find it really similar in the way that is really theoretical and lined. In this I think that  the participation on class is really important. En English is something that you can hear, but in my case, even when I can understand a lot, my pronunciation is nor telly good, so that makes it really significant to interact with other people, so you can practice. Like any other skill, you have to do it constantly, so you can learn in a much better way. Now, with the use of the blogs I've really realized how much I know of the correct use of words, because sometimes you know how they sound, but no how they are written. So there are two things that I need to improve: pronunciation and the writing.  Now, outside class, I use English almost every day if I have to study some papers or if I want to have fu...

Blog 7: Changes to my study programme

Hi! In my career we have many many types of subjects, in a very big selection between physical geography and social geography. It really seems like you can choose whatever you like the most and "create" your own selections of subjects that may apply to what you would like to focus in the future. Just for that, I wouldn't choose to make any changes in the curriculum. What I would like to add in my career and maybe is something of the university, is more sources of information than just papers or books that could be hard to find or expensive.  In the case of the length of studies, I really think that 5 years of information is really understandable, just considering what I said of this huge range of subjects. On the other side, the university has an excellent infrastructure and a good location in relation to what we study, being really close to social problems and territorial planning. So not just the buildings are really relatable to geography, also the around of the depart...

Blog 6: Time travel to the future

Imagen
Hi! Speaking of time travel to the future, I honestly wouldn't like to go, because I think that see everything on a time that isn't mine could be really impresive and maybe I wouldn't face it well. But in the case that maybe I change my mind and the oportunity of making that travel is there, I would go to the 2050 just to see the climate change on his biggest way. Maybe that would be sad, or maybe isn't that bad as they say jajaja The other idea of it is just travel to the past, maybe in a year where a iconic band made a huge concert so I can get the chance to be there and enjoy. In this second case maybe I would considerer to stay, but I'm pretty sure that I preffer my time, in a generation with their own ways that I can understand easily. So, in that case, I choose my time in the earth.  I can't help but imagining the movie Back to the future and the many things that could be dangerous for a experience like this jaja so I don't know if I'm scared ...

Blog 5: My future job

Hi! Since I'm studyng Geography I've been searching what field of this area could be great for me. The funny thing about this is that when I started the career I thought that I would always love more of the physical side of Geography, but it has been a journey to learn and understand how the social or human side can be really interesting. So now I can really see myself in a job related to a social investigation. Also, I reallly like tecnology, so I love a subjet called "Aplications to SIG 1", in wich we are learning to use a software to make maps of whatever we are needing or studying. This subject is really fun because is no just theoretical, as the name says, we apply our knowledge, making it so much practical.  Talking about the salary, I'm not sure, but it seems to be above the average. Many of out teachers have told us that we are not going to be millionaires, but we are going to be fine financially speaking jaja. I would love to take a major, perfectionate i...
